How to type in Urdu with this keyboard
- Click inside the box. Urdu mode is on by default.
- Type with your normal keyboard. Keys are matched by sound, so m gives م and n gives ن.
- Hold Shift for letters like ٹ (Shift+T), ڈ (Shift+D), ڑ (Shift+R) and ں (Shift+N).
- On a phone or tablet, tap the on-screen keys below the box.

Punctuation: comma types ،, full stop types ۔ and question mark types ؟.
Tips for better Urdu typing
- Do chashmi he (ھ): type h after a letter for sounds like بھ, کھ and گھ.
- Choti he vs gol he: o gives ہ (used in words like ہم), and h gives ھ.
- Bari ye: use y for ے at the end of words like ہے.
- Switch to English mode with the button at the top when you need English words or numbers in between.

Is this Urdu keyboard free?
Yes. It’s completely free, works in your browser and doesn’t need an account or download.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Use the on-screen keys under the text box. Many phones also have a built-in Urdu keyboard you can add in your keyboard settings.
Is my text saved?
Your text stays in your own browser, so it’s still there if you refresh the page. We don’t send or store it on our servers. Press Clear to remove it.
Why does the text look different in WhatsApp or Word?
Each app uses its own Urdu font. The letters are the same; only the style of writing may look different.
