How to make an Urdu poetry image
- Write or paste your poetry in the box. Put each misra (line) on its own line. No Urdu keyboard? Type with English keys, the same way as our Urdu Keyboard.
- Add the poet’s name if you like. It appears under the poetry.
- Choose a design, or upload your own photo as the background and use the slider to darken it so the text is easy to read.
- Pick a size: Square for Instagram and Facebook, Status / Story for WhatsApp status, Instagram stories and TikTok, or Wide for a Facebook post.
- Press Download image. On a phone you can also press Share to send it straight to WhatsApp.

Tips for a beautiful shayari image
- Two lines (one sher) look best. Long ghazals shrink to fit, so split them into several images.
- Light designs (Cream paper, Sky) read well in bright sunlight; dark designs look rich at night.
- For your own photo, choose a simple background such as the sky, flowers or a road, and darken it a little.
- Always credit the poet. If you share someone else’s poetry, write their name in the poet box.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photo is used only inside your own browser to draw the picture. It is never sent to our servers.

Yes. Untick “Show small ghulmil.net credit” before downloading. We’re grateful if you leave it on.
Which font is used?
The text uses Noto Nastaliq Urdu, a free Nastaliq font from Google. It looks like the traditional calligraphy used in Urdu books and newspapers.
Can I make English or Roman Urdu quote images?
This tool is made for Urdu script. Untick “Type Urdu with English keys” to type other text, though the font is designed for Urdu.
