خواب میں شہد کی مکھی دیکھنے کی تعبیر
Seeing honey bees (shehad ki makkhi, شہد کی مکھی) in a dream, a beehive, a swarm, or getting stung is a dream people often ask about. Bees are honoured in Islam: a whole surah of the Quran, Surah an-Nahl (“The Bee”), is named after them, and it describes honey as a healing for people (16:68–69). In the classical books of tabeer, bees are mostly a good sign. These are traditional interpretations, not predictions.
Short answer: Bees in a dream usually mean benefit, halal earnings and responsibility. Even a bee sting is read by Ibn Shaheen as money that comes after some effort. Honey is linked to healing and wealth. Killing many bees is the main warning sign.
What do bees mean in a dream in Islam?
The book attributed to Ibn Sirin says bees point to benefit, leadership and public responsibility, and that many bees mean seeking a good livelihood. Imam al-Nabulsi links bees to great wealth when the honey is gathered with care, and Ibn Shaheen says the dreamer is someone useful to others who works for gain.
Bee and honey dream meanings by situation
| What you saw | Traditional meaning |
|---|---|
| Seeing bees (shehad ki makkhiyan dekhna) | Benefit, good earnings and responsibility (Ibn Sirin); being useful to others (Ibn Shaheen). |
| Many bees / a swarm | Seeking a good, lawful livelihood, especially for people in villages and farming (Ibn Sirin). Gaining many bees can mean gains (Ibn Shaheen). |
| Bee sting (makkhi ka katna) | Earning money after some hardship (Ibn Shaheen). |
| Bees landing on your head | Gaining leadership or responsibility among your people (al-Nabulsi). |
| Bees settling on your hand | Fertility and plenty of good (al-Nabulsi). |
| Killing a few bees | Escaping someone’s harm, or hard work to earn a living (al-Nabulsi). |
| Killing many bees and being stung | A group of people plotting against you (al-Nabulsi); killing bees harshly means a loss (Ibn Shaheen). |
| Driving bees out of a house | Oppression by someone in authority (Ibn Shaheen). |
| Honey (shehad) | Recovery from illness (Ibn Sirin); great wealth if collected carefully (al-Nabulsi). |
| Taking honey from a hive | Lawful money (Ibn Ghannam). Leaving some honey for the bees means fairness; taking it all means injustice. |
Is a bee sting in a dream bad?
Not necessarily. Ibn Shaheen reads a bee sting as earning money after hardship, which is quite different from a scorpion or snake bite. The warning in the books is mostly about killing many bees and being stung, which al-Nabulsi links to people plotting against the dreamer.
What should I do after this dream?
- If the dream felt good, say Alhamdulillah and keep working hard for halal income. That is what bees symbolise.
- If it frightened you (a swarm attacking you, for example), follow the Sunnah for a bad dream: seek refuge in Allah, spit lightly to the left three times, turn over and don’t tell anyone (Sahih al-Bukhari 7044). See the full steps.
Ghulmil’s note: Bees work together, never waste, and produce something that heals. Whatever your dream meant, that is a lovely reminder for daily life. Want an answer about your own dream? Send it to us and we’ll reply by email.
